From Film to Digital: The Story Behind @35mmbcpix and @bcpix

Updated: Jan 2

One Photographer, Two Archives: Exploring @bcpix and @35mmbcpix

Over the years, my photography has grown through two distinct eras — the pre-2000 film years and the digital era beginning in 2001. To share that full creative journey, I’ve separated my work into two dedicated Instagram accounts: @35mmbcpix, home to my archival film photography, and @bcpix, where my digital archive lives and continues to evolve.

Here’s how each account tells a different part of the story:

@35mmbcpix is the place where my film photography lives, with an emphasis on the work I created prior to 2000. These images come from a time when everything was shot on 35mm film — motorsports, documentary moments, everyday scenes, and anything else that caught my eye.

What Defines @35mmbcpix

  • Dedicated exclusively to my film work

  • A strong focus on my motorsports photography from before 2000

  • The unmistakable look and feel of 35mm film — grain, mood, texture, imperfection

  • A visual archive of the early years that shaped my style

If you enjoy the authenticity and nostalgia of analog photography, this account is a deep dive into the era that started it all for me.

When I transitioned into the digital world in 2001, my photography evolved — faster workflows, sharper images, and new creative possibilities. @bcpix houses my entire digital archive from 2001 forward, including current motorsports coverage, ongoing projects, and even occasional glimpses into my personal life.

What Defines @bcpix

  • Digital archive dating back to 2001

  • Current motorsports photography, shot trackside as events unfold today

  • A wide variety of digital work from the past two decades

  • Personal life moments shared alongside professional content

This account represents the modern phase of my career — clean, high-speed, and constantly growing.

Two Accounts, One Continuous Story

Together, @35mmbcpix and @bcpix form a complete timeline of my life in photography:

Follow either for the era you love most, or follow both for the full picture.
